TRUSTED BY:
At Desert Bloom Nursery, we grow microgreens, edible flowers, and cut flowers with a simple belief: healthy food and beautiful blooms start with healthy soil and sustainable growing mediums.
Everything we do supports biodiversity, strengthens the land, and keeps our crops clean and chemical‑free.
We focus on restoring and enriching our soil through low‑disturbance methods, compost, living roots, and diverse plantings. Healthy soil holds more water, feeds plants more effectively, and supports a thriving web of life underground.
For crops grown in trays—like microgreens—we pair our soil systems with coco coir, a renewable, peat‑free medium made from coconut husks. Coco coir holds moisture well, promotes clean root development, and reduces waste while staying fully sustainable.
Our microgreens grow quickly and pack intense flavor and nutrients, making them one of the most resource‑efficient foods available.
Our edible flowers offer bright colors and natural flavors—peppery, sweet, citrusy, or floral—and contain beneficial plant compounds.
We let nature protect our crops.
Ladybugs help manage aphids and soft‑bodied pests.
We also rely on companion plants that naturally repel pests, attract beneficial insects, and enhance soil health:
Marigolds deter aphids, whiteflies, and soil pests.
Basils confuse pests like thrips and flies with their aromatic oils.
Rosemary helps keep beetles, moths, and carrot flies away.
Borage brings in pollinators and discourages hornworms.
Nasturtiums work as a trap crop for aphids and beetles.
Radishes distract flea beetles and root‑feeding pests.
These plants create a diverse, interconnected ecosystem that keeps our fields balanced.
Our cut flowers are grown in healthy, chemical‑free soil, supported by beneficial insects and companion plantings. Strong stems, vibrant colors, and longer vase life come naturally when the environment is thriving.
